Dairy-free, sugar-free iced coffee: Australia’s Don’t Dairy is on a mission to shake things up

  • Written by The Times

Some of us have the time to brew a cup of coffee at home, for others, we wake up and are instantly on the move; off to an early start with exercise or work. If that’s you, we’d like to introduce you to your new best friend: canned coffee. If you’ve got the perception that canned coffee has too much sugar, or too many preservatives, you’ll be pleased to know there’s a whole new bunch of options available these days; so you can enjoy your caffeine hit regardless of your dietaries, and without having to sacrifice your health.

It was during a road trip through Western Australia that young entrepreneur Stef Crowley-Clough came up with the idea for her new chilled drink business, Don’t Dairy https://www.dontdairy.com.au/: seeking a decent cuppa during a fourteen-hour drive, she was disappointed to find only sugary, dairy options available at petrol stations and convenience stores, which gave her the idea to shake things up.

Crowley-Clough went into partnership with her Dad, began research and development, and before long, Don't Dairy was born - a range of ready-to-drink (RTD) oat milk chilled coffee cans in Latte and Mocha flavours, as well as a Choc Milk option. The cold brews have a gentle flavour with a big coffee hit (each can is a double shot) and the speciality coffee is Single origin.

As well as being non-dairy, the Australian owned and made Don't Dairy have no added sugar in their RTDs - the only sugar occurs naturally in the oats and is very low (1.2g in the Latte and Mocha and 1.8g in the Chocolate) per serving. The drinks are preservative free, but are also perfect for stockists at grocery and convenience stores - as they have a 12-month shelf life. The long shelf-life also makes them great for long car travel or campervan trips - you can simply store them in your vehicle and refrigerate/chill cans as needed.

On top of all this awesome news, Don't Dairy is eco-conscious, too: cans and 4-pack carton packaging are 100% recyclable. You’ll also be pleased to hear that they donate the coffee grounds from production to local farmers in Australia’s east coast.

These tasty cans can be purchased online https://www.dontdairy.com.au/collections , and delivered anywhere in Australia (shipping is a flat $10), or find your local stockist here https://www.dontdairy.com.au/pages/storelocator.
