Lauren’s Journey to a Healthier Life: How Being a Busy Mum and Supportive Wife Helped Her To Lose 51kg with The Lady Shake

  • Written by The Times

For Lauren, the road to better health began with a small and simple but significant decision. As a busy wife and mother, she noticed her husband skipping breakfast and decided to purchase The Man Shake to ensure he was starting his day right.

What she didn’t anticipate was how this simple act would spark her own health transformation. After seeing her husband’s results, Lauren decided to give The Lady Shake a try which quickly became the game changer she was looking for.

Lauren's journey has been anything but quick. “It was a slow and steady process,” she says.

I had struggled with yo-yo dieting for years,” says Lauren, who was tipping the scales at 118kg in 2020. “But for the first time, I actually started seeing results, and more importantly, I didn’t put the weight back on.”

Lauren’s newfound health has had a profound impact on her life. Not only does she feel more energetic, but the weight loss has also helped with her multiple sclerosis. “I have so much more energy now, and I’m able to stay active in ways I never could before.”

Lauren’s success is rooted in a new mindset that helps her navigate the inevitable ups and downs of any health journey. "There are some weeks where I put a kilo on, but I easily lose that again and get back on track because I have a new mindset now," she explains.

This shift in perspective has been crucial, she doesn’t let the occasional weight fluctuation demotivate her, she focuses on the bigger picture and quickly gets back to her routine. Her mindset now centers on progress, not perfection, and that has made a huge difference in maintaining her long-term motivation.

The sustainability of The Lady Shake has been key to Lauren’s ability to stick with her plan, especially given her demanding full-time career as a nurse. “The Lady Shake is really sustainable for my full-time career,” she says. “I usually have two shakes a day, and it takes the guesswork out of meals. It keeps me full enough to not eye off all the snacks in the staff room, too!”

With long shifts and unpredictable hours, having a convenient, nutritious option that supports her goals without adding stress or extra effort has been a lifesaver. The shakes keep her energised and satisfied throughout her busy day, while also helping her resist the temptation of unhealthy snacks that often pop up in the staff room.

Now, in 2024, Lauren has lost an impressive 51kg, bringing her weight down to 67kg, just 2kg shy of her ultimate goal. “The journey hasn’t been perfect. I’ve had weeks where the scale crept up, but I didn’t let that stop me,” she says. “I’d get back on track by focusing on two shakes a day, healthy snacks, and a balanced dinner.”

One of the keys to Lauren’s success has been the flexibility and variety that The Lady Shake offers. “I love the multi-packs because I get to enjoy different flavours each day. Vanilla is my favourite because I can mix it up with fruit, coffee, or even a bit of cocoa powder,” she says.

Looking back, Lauren says she’s proud of what she’s achieved. “I always tell my kids that anything worth having is worth fighting for. The hard work pays off, and the goal is always sweeter.”

For Lauren, The Lady Shake isn’t just a diet, it’s a lifestyle change. “It’s about shifting your mindset. When you do that, everything else falls into place,” she says.
