Anna Skellern stars in new Audible Original thriller,   Unfollowed

  • Written by: The Times

Sydney's Anna Skellern narrates new Audible Original, Unfollowed. Written by husband-and-wife duo, Christian White and Summer de Roche, Unfollowed is a fast-paced thriller that examines the world of social media influencing.

Unfollowed tells the story of influencer couple Jess and Nick Brooks who, to their followers, are proof that you can have it all. They dance, cook and surf their way through life and somehow, amidst the joyful chaos of raising their two young boys Oliver and Archie, they’re still madly in love.

A brand deal lands the family a free trip to an idyllic Balinese luxury resort, but their dream holiday becomes a nightmare when younger son Archie goes missing from the Kids Club.

Unfollowed is the latest locally produced Audible Original from Melbourne authors Christian White and Summer de Roche starring Sydney-born actress Anna Skellern, known for her roles in Solitary and I Give It a Year alongside Rose Byrne.

Speaking of her role as Jess Brooks, Skellern comments,Stepping into the role of Jess Brooks offered a fresh perspective on something we’ve all come to recognise – online influence. While we’re all well-versed in consuming content, confronting the ethical grey areas behind it was entirely new for me. Unfollowed couldn't be more relevant in a time where the world increasingly demands more transparency and accountability from one another online.”

Karen Appathurai Wiggins, Head of Regional Content, APAC, at Audible comments, “ Audible has been amplifying the voices of local creators and authors with over 140 Australian Audible Originals produced since the program’s launch in 2019.We’re proud to add Unfollowed to this roster of premium Australian content.” .

Crime fiction continues to be one of the most popular genres on Audible.com.au, with 1 in 4 of the top 100 fiction titles of the past year belonging to the category — and Unfollowed is poised to be the next must-listen." adds  Appathurai Wiggins
