Top 10 holiday houses across Brisbane
As Brisbane gears up to become an Olympic city, the Sunshine State capital is seeing a surge in new residents, luxury hotels, and major developments including The Star Brisbane and Queens Wharf. With popular attractions like Blueys World drawing tourists, savvy travellers are starting to venture beyond the city limits to explore nearby regions that Brisbanites escape to as their playground.
One of those areas is the Moreton Bay region, Australia’s third-largest local government area by population, it spans over 2,000 square kilometres and offers an escape for those seeking beaches and hinterland within a short drive of Brisbane. Increasingly travellers are discovering the region and in doing so, they’re choosing holiday homes as their accommodation of choice.
According to Kayla Andrews of Holiday Hub Bribie Island, which manages over 100 holiday homes on the island, the demand for upscale properties with personalised services is on the rise.
“We’re seeing more guests from both local and interstate markets wanting luxury homes with concierge-style amenities. From fridges stocked with local wine and seafood platters to welcome hampers featuring local bath and beauty products, travellers are now looking for complete, tailored experiences," Andrews shares.
"Bribie Island is especially popular for these types of stays, with its national parks, lagoons and the closest patrolled surf beach north of Brisbane, and canals perfect for fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and swimming,” she added.
Beyond Bribie Island, Moreton Bay's hinterland is home to charming farm-stay properties that offer a peaceful country escape.
“Our region’s hinterland has some stunning farm stays where visitors can disconnect from the city while still being a short drive from Brisbane Airport,” says Tash Wheeler, CEO of Visit Moreton Bay.
“With Brisbane’s growth on the horizon and the 2032 Olympics approaching, we anticipate more visitors will seek out Moreton Bay as an alternative to crowded hotspots further north. Here, you can enjoy a quintessential Queensland experience without the long journey.”
