What Makes a Perfect Beach Towel?

The
perfect beach towel is more than just a piece of fabric; it’s an essential companion for your better beach days. Let’s chat about the key factors that transform a towel from ordinary to extraordinary.

Size: Nobody wants to use a tea-towel to dry themselves at the beach. A full-sized beach towel of 160cmx80cm offers ample space to relax comfortably.

Material: The fabric of your beach towel is paramount. We’ve tried & tested every towel fabric around. From cottons, bamboos and linens - the absolute best material for beach towels is 100% recycled polyester. With many weaving styles, this material is renowned for its quick-drying properties, ensuring you're not weighed down by a soggy towel. Moreover, its lightweight nature makes it easy to carry, and its durability ensures it withstands countless beach days. Recycled polyester has actually shown better durability than it’s virgin counterpart. Not bad, right?

Sand-Free Qualities: No one enjoys the gritty feeling of sand clinging to their skin. Your old terry towels bring most of the beach back home with you. A high-quality beach towel should be sand-resistant, shaking off unwanted grains effortlessly. Once again, recycled polyester beach towels win again – as they can be woven to repel sand naturally, without catching fragments in fibres.

Absorbency and Thickness: The best beach towels should effectively absorb water, keeping you dry and comfortable, without weighing you down too much. At least 400 GSM (grams per square meter) will provide a great middle-ground, without being too heavy once wet.

Design and Versatility: A beach towel is more than just a functional item; it's a reflection of your style. Vibrant colours, unique patterns, and double-sided designs add a touch of personality to your beach days. A versatile towel can be used not only for drying off but also as a stylish cover-up or a picnic blanket.

Sustainability: Choosing a beach towel that aligns with your eco-conscious values is crucial. With so many options available as a consumer, opt for towels made from recycled materials, ensuring a minimal environmental footprint. Recycled polyester is by far the most sustainable option; made from post-consumer recycled plastics & woven to last. Choose retailers that work with certified and compliant manufacturers, too.

Your beach towel should be a long-lasting companion. Look for full sized, high-quality materials and construction that can withstand countless beach days. This reduces waste and ensures your towel stays by your side for years to come. By considering these factors, you can find the perfect towel that enhances your beach days and reflects your style - & commitment to sustainability.
