Several locations around the world have become go-to spots for couples who want to signal their commitment to one another. Each has its own appeal, with everything from historical landmarks to incredible vistas.

Paris, France

Paris is often the first destination that comes to mind when considering an engagement, and for good reason. The city has a reputation for romance that is hard to ignore, but its appeal goes beyond the clichés.

Bali, Indonesia

Book into a clifftop resort overlooking the Indian Ocean or make a trip to one of the many temples surrounded by jungle. Whatever you choose, you'll get a sense of serenity and space that’s hard to find elsewhere. While it can be busy in some areas, there are plenty of secluded spots where you can enjoy a private experience.

London, UK

It might not provide the kind of sun-soaked romance of other cities, but London is a place where history and modern life collide. From the cobbled streets of Covent Garden to a walk along the River Thames, the city offers a variety of locations that are great for popping the question.

For something quieter, there are hidden gardens and charming pubs where you can take a more laid-back approach.
