Bringing a taste of Germany to Sydney’s Macarthur region, Camden Valley Inn’s three-day Oktoberfest celebration will combine German-inspired food and beer with live entertainment, competitions, dress-ups and plenty of opportunities to celebrate with friends.
Running across the entire weekend, the celebrations will encourage guests to fully embrace the Oktoberfest spirit, with lederhosen, dirndls and Bavarian-inspired outfits welcomed throughout the venue.
A TASTE OF BAVARIA IN CAMDEN
The festivities will kick off on Friday 23 October, with Camden Valley Inn launching its special Oktoberfest menu and inviting guests to settle in for a weekend of food, drinks and entertainment.
Whether stopping by for a Friday night drink, gathering a group of friends for Saturday’s festivities or making a Sunday afternoon of it, guests can expect the Oktoberfest atmosphere to continue throughout the weekend.
The celebrations will ramp up on Saturday 24 October, with a full day of Oktoberfest activities designed to get guests into the competitive spirit.
Those looking to put their beer knowledge to the test can take part in the Oktoberfest Beer Passport, working their way through a selection of beers throughout the day for the chance to win Oktoberfest-themed merchandise.
For those who prefer a more traditional test of strength, the stein-holding competition will put guests’ endurance to the test, with participants challenged to see how long they can hold a full stein.
And, of course, no Oktoberfest celebration would be complete without the outfits. Guests are encouraged to dress the part, with the venue set to become a sea of lederhosen, dirndls and Bavarian-inspired costumes across the weekend.
As the sun goes down on Saturday, the celebrations will continue into the evening with live music from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, providing the soundtrack for guests to raise a glass and celebrate into the night.
THE OOMPAH LOOMPAH BAND TO CLOSE OUT THE WEEKEND
The festivities will continue on Sunday 25 October, culminating in a live performance from The Oompah Loompah Band from 12pm to 3pm.
Known for their high-energy take on traditional German oompah music, the band will bring a colourful and lively finale to the weekend, giving guests one final opportunity to raise a stein, sing along and soak up the Oktoberfest atmosphere.
