Horacio Silva appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of Robb Report Australia and New Zealand

Australian publisher reports soaring readership, appoints ex-NY Times magazine director as Editor-in-Chief

Australian luxury publisher Kanebridge Media has announced a 65 percent growth in revenue year to year across its three titles, and that it has appointed Horacio Silva as the new Editor-in-Chief of Robb Report Australia & New Zealand.

Kanebridge Media publishes luxury media titles Robb Report Australia & New Zealand (print and online), Kanebridge Quarterly (print) and the online outlet Kanebridge News (www.kanebridgenews.com), which have reached a combined 120,000 readers. Robb Report ANZ is published under license from Penske Media Corporation.

Robb Report is considered the world’s most authoritative title in the luxury market, with the Australian edition launching in 2016. Kanebridge Quarterly, launched in October 2022, reports on Australian news in real estate, personal finance, building and renovating. Kanebridgenews.com is a daily property and finance news service focusing on the Australian marketplace. Kanebridge News and Kanebridge Quarterly offer news content from Australian experts as well as from its Dow Jones, its commercial partner, including the Wall Street Journal, Penta’, Mansion Global and Barron’s without paywall.

Marwan Rahme, Managing Director of Kanebridge Ltd, confirmed that the three publications each reported rising annual readership rates this spring, attributing the growth to increased demand for quality news and lifestyle commentary by the nation’s high-net-worth community.

He said: “When we launched Robb Report, we had countless naysayers proclaim that print was dead. Yet Kanebridge Media’s revenue rose by 65 percent over the past year and our digital database for both Robb Report and Kanebridge has climbed to over 70,000 contacts.”

Silva has returned to Sydney to take up the Robb Report Editor in Chief role, after a 25-year-stint in New York, where he held various senior editorial roles, including at T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Departures and W. His first issue of Robb Report as Editor-in-Chief is available at news agents nationwide from 14 December 2023. The magazine can also be purchased at www.robbreport.com.au.

“After almost three decades of working for luxury titles in the States, it’s wonderful to return to Sydney and assume the mantle of Editor-in-Chief at Robb Report Australia & New Zealand,” Silva said.

“It’s an exciting time for luxury in the region, and I look forward to growing the magazine’s reach in print and online as well as in the important event and thought leadership space.”

Rahme said Silva’s wealth of editorial expertise in the fashion and luxury arenas will not only cement Robb Report’s standing as the nation’s premier luxury magazine, but also guide Robb Report ANZ to new heights.

“Horacio has forged a remarkable career reporting on luxury trends and curating high-end content across some of New York’s most exclusive publications,” he said. “I have no doubt that his dedication to defining the latest luxury trends will inspire our readers.”

“The rising readership rates across our titles is testament to Australia’s appetite for quality, print publications,” Rahme added. “Looking ahead, I expect the robust growth of all our publications to continue and I’m personally looking forward to seeing Horacio’s eye for luxury style rise from the pages of the December Robb Report ANZ edition.”

Robb Report, dubbed the manual of modern living, covers luxury news and trends across automotive, watches, style and travel and has accrued an enviable readership of high net-worth individuals in Australia and New Zealand.

Combined print and digital subscriptions for Kanebridge Media’s publications has climbed to almost 10,000.

Silva’s appointment at Robb Report comes a year after Robyn Willis, formerly Editor of Daily Telegraph’s Home magazine, was appointed Kanebridge Quarterly’s first Editor.

Kanebridge Quarterly and Robb Report ANZ are available from newsagents nationwide, and prestige outlets like the QANTAS Business and Chairman lounges across Australia, high-end hotels (Four Seasons in Sydney, The Imperial Hotel Gold Coast, Ritz-Carlton Perth, among others) and prestige car dealerships from Mercedes Benz and Audi in Sydney to Maserati Gold Coast and Brisbane, the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, Royal Automobile Club of Australia, ASX Refinitiv Charity Foundation, and Domain Real Estate.
