Join Macca’s in supporting Clean Up Australia Day

Clean up Australia

McDonald’s Australia is once again rolling up its sleeves for Clean Up Australia Day, marking 36 years of proudly supporting the national initiative that helps keep local communities clean.

In the lead-up to Clean Up Australia Day, thousands of Macca’s crew members across the country will be getting outside and into their communities, working together to help remove litter and tidy up local streets, parks and public spaces.

Macca’s is calling out to customers, community groups, families and friends to slip on those gloves, pull out those bags and join us for the nation’s biggest Clean Up!

Your crew from Macca’s Bridgewater and New Norfolk, will be removing litter and Cleaning Up the local area in the week leading up to Clean Up Australia Day, with over 4,000 crew members from over 400 McDonald’s restaurants across Australia participating in the 2026 Clean Up.

As a founding partner since 1989, Macca’s has contributed more than $5 million to Clean Up Australia and supported practical, on-the-ground action to help reduce litter and protect the environment.

Corey Mingari, Licensee for McDonald’s Bridgewater said, “As a local business in Greater Hobart we’re proud to support the local causes and groups that matter to our customers and people.”

“Our crew are getting involved in this year’s Clean Up because it’s a simple, practical way to make a positive difference close to home.

“We’re part of this community every day, so it’s important to us that we help look after it. We’d love to see customers, families and local groups join us - every pair of hands helps.”

Last year marked 35 years of the partnership - a milestone that celebrated decades of crew, customers and licensees rolling up their sleeves to support their local communities.

Over that time, more than 140,000 crew members have taken part in Clean Up activities, building awareness around responsible waste disposal and the role everyone can play in keeping their communities clean.

Pip Kiernan, Chair of Clean Up Australia added, “Thanks to McDonald’s for their continued support as a founding partner of Clean Up Australia Day. It’s great to see so many restaurants and crew from around the country participating this year.

A big thank you to the McDonalds team and the local community who are getting involved, taking practical action and making a real difference in Cleaning Up their local area and helping improve and protect our precious Aussie environment.”
