Mint Payments partners with Zip Co to add flexible payment options for travel merchants

  • Written by: Times Media

Mint Payments, Australia's leading travel payments specialist, today announced a partnership with Zip Co (ASX: ZIP), a digital financial services company offering innovative and people-centred products, to introduce flexible payment options for travel bookings across its merchant network.

The partnership gives travel agencies, tour operators, and travel businesses using Mint in Australia the ability to offer Zip's flexible payment options alongside traditional payment methods. The partnership supports merchants by providing full payment upfront minus fees while customers can spread costs over time with no to low interest options.

Travel bookings in Australia reached record levels in 2025, with more than 12 million Australians travelling overseas last year. With demand for travel soaring, the partnership will make it easier for consumers to plan, book and pay for the experiences they’ve been waiting for.

Through Mint's platform, merchants receive payment upfront minus fees, with settlement processed within two banking days. Zip manages customer repayments directly, removing credit risk and administrative burden from travel operators using the platform. Merchants activate Zip through their existing Mint dashboard, with the payment option appearing automatically at checkout.

Mint Payments CEO, Alex Teoh, said, "We’re constantly striving to provide better alternative, flexible payment options for travel agents, operators and their customers. We know that travellers want more control over how they pay, and travel businesses need to convert more bookings.”

“This partnership enables merchants to get paid upfront, streamline their payment workflows, and unlock new audiences, while customers get the flexibility to book now and pay over time. This way merchants can keep their cash flow steady while giving travellers more choice.”

Becky Cook, Chief Customer & Revenue Officer, Zip ANZ, said, “Whether it’s a long-haul adventure, a family getaway or a quick escape across the Tasman, Australians are eager to explore. Zip’s partnership with Mint Payments will make it simpler for travel agents to get paid quickly and provide consumers more freedom to book their dream holiday, while still managing their cash flow appropriately,”

“Travel remains a strategic vertical for Zip and we’re looking forward to supporting even more travel merchants in 2026 and beyond.”

The partnership and Zip integration is part of Mint's rollout of an updated payments page, offering a faster, modern checkout with expanded payment options for customers.
