Ricoh Launches IM C401F A4 Colour MFP to Boost Speed and Security in Hybrid Workplaces

Ricoh, a leading provider of smart workplace technology, today launched the RICOH IM C401F, an enterprise-grade A4 colour desktop multifunction printer (MFP) designed for Australia’s evolving hybrid work environments. With fast output, seamless cloud integration, enhanced security and exceptional image quality, it delivers high performance and reliability with a familiar premium user experience consistent with Ricoh’s flagship A3 colour range.

As part of Ricoh’s evolution into a digital services provider, the new A4 colour MFP is built for medium to large workgroups combining high-speed colour printing, an intuitive 10.1” Smart Operation Panel, and enterprise-grade security. It’s a practical, reliable solution for businesses looking to stay productive and connected—wherever work happens.

“The IM C401F is equipped with a range of new and enhanced features to meet the needs of the modern workplace while supporting enterprise requirements for robust security and sustainability,” says Sul Koralege, Product Manager, Ricoh Australia. “This is Ricoh’s premium desktop colour solution – bringing enterprise-level performance to every corner of the hybrid workspace, helping businesses stay productive and responsive with a print solution built for speed, consistency, and high-demand environments.”

Key features and benefits include:

Fast, Reliable Output: Built to handle high-demand environments, it prints up to 40 pages per minute (ppm) in colour and 43 ppm in black and white. High-capacity paper trays of up to 2,300 sheets and high-yield toner reduce downtime and keep teams moving.

Smart, Intuitive Interface: Features Ricoh’s new third-generation 10.1” Smart Operation Panel with capacitive touchscreen, improved processing power, and Android OS—ensuring a consistent, familiar, user-friendly experience across Ricoh devices.

Stronger Security by Design: Backed by Ricoh’s Always Current Technology Platform, it stays up to date with the latest security enhancements, and includes TPM 2.0 encryption, WPA3 WiFi protection, and support for TLS 1.3 to safeguard data across networks, devices, and user access points – the same advanced security found in Ricoh’s core A3 colour MFPs, reinforcing its premium positioning.

Cloud-Ready and Workflow-Enabled:  Fully compatible with Ricoh’s Streamline NX, Cloudstream and third-party solutions. Offers access to cloud apps, automated workflows, and device fleet management via RICOH Smart Integration. Mobile printing support (AirPrint, Mopria®) ensures seamless connectivity wherever users are.

Built to Last: With a duty cycle of 150,000 prints per month, robust build quality, and long-life components engineered for demanding use.

Sustainability Built In: Designed with the environment in mind, the IM C401F features 10% post-consumer recycled plastics, more than 43% reduction in plastic packaging, and delivers improved energy efficiency supporting low power consumption and reduced carbon impact.

Empowering Digital Workplaces: As part of Ricoh’s intelligent MFP range, the IM C401F delivers consistent performance across office and remote locations—simplifying document workflows, reducing manual tasks, and helping businesses adapt to evolving workstyles.

This launch comes at a time when the A4 colour market is experiencing strong growth. According to IDC, the A4 colour market continues to show steady growth, particularly in the high-speed segments, driven by increasing business demand for faster, more efficient devices. The market is projected to achieve a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8.8% between 2022 and 2026.  Within this, the 21–30 ppm speed segment is expected to grow by 6.7%, while the 31–44 ppm segment is forecast to expand more significantly at 12.3%, reflecting the rising demand for higher-speed devices in A4 formats.
