5 Ways to Make a Living Online

  • Written by The Times

The World Wide Web has brought us many powerful benefits, indeed, the information highway has changed forever the way we live and its influence is growing; soon the Internet of Things will be launched and with the 10x speeds of 5G, we are shifting into a new dimension of digital connectivity.

You probably know at least 5 digital nomads; people who work remotely and if you are thinking of joining them, here are a few ideas to help you create a shortlist.

  1. Trading – It might be crypto, stocks and shares, there are many commodities that you can buy and sell; using the top Australian share trading platform definitely gives you an edge over other traders. Approach this with great care, as there is risk involved with all forms of trading; start with a demo account and if you are in the black after 3 months, it's time to start trading for real.

  2. Flipping cars – Only if you know your mechanics and have an eye for a bargain; partner up with a good garage that can work their magic and you can make a good living. Buy cars at auctions, develop your observation skills, bid cleverly and you might be onto something. Of course, it isn’t easy but if you have a passion for cars, it is hardly work!

  3. Teaching English online – If you are a native English speaker, you can become an online language instructor; start with a Google search to locate global language agencies and they offer full training; all you need is the desire to learn how to become a competent language teacher. A decent laptop with mic and webcam and you are good to go.

  4. Doing product surveys – There are online agencies that will pay you to do product surveys; all they ask is that you give honest feedback and the more you do, the more money you make. This would suit a professional person with attention to detail who has a few hours a week free. You are paid via PayPal, and you can accumulate enough to buy a used car in just a few months!

  5. Web content writing – If you have a flair for the written word, you can crank out SEO blogs and insert links according to a brief. Full training is given to the right applicants and like most online jobs, you only work when you want. If you are a good writer, you could graduate to sales copy, which is a higher pay grade. Online blogging is fun; stay-at-home mums often supplement their income blogging, which allows you to pick and choose the work you take on.

Of course, there are a lot more ways to add to your income and we hope that the above information helps you find something that ticks all your boxes.
