Andrew Bogut teams up with Sportility to transform the future of global grassroots sport

Supporting 60,000 local players across Australia, New Zealand and the USA

26 March 2019, Sydney: NBA Golden State Warriors’ newest player and NBL’s Most Valuable Player, Andrew Bogut has joined forces with Australian company, Sportility, an online platform transforming the future of global sports by providing grassroots teams with direct access to brand sponsorship opportunities at the click of a button.

Founded in 2017 by Adam Hyman and Dan Harsanyi, Sportility has grown from an apparel brand with 25,000 members, to a complete sponsorship solution, supporting 60,000 local players across Australia, New Zealand and the USA. Sporting teams have the ability to design and customise their apparel online with the option to select up to three sponsor logos, which reduces their expenses by up to 40%.

“It was a light bulb moment for us,” said Co-Founders, Adam Hyman and Dan Harsanyi. “After speaking to our customers and business clients, we realised there were two challenges to solve - one being the under-resourced grassroots sporting teams and the other, brands looking for inexpensive, yet highly effective advertising opportunities. Sportility has filled an important gap in the market which globally democratises amateur sports sponsorship.”

After learning the potential Sportility has on grassroots sports globally,  Andrew Bogut joined the Sportility team, with a particular interest in fostering the future of sport in Australia and opening up more opportunities for kids to get involved.

“If I didn’t have the opportunity to play basketball when I was a kid for my local club, I think my life would have turned out very differently. Not only is Sportility changing the way sponsorship operates in the world, but they are also providing even more opportunities for the next generation of Aussie superstars to play like a pro. I’m proud to be a part of this industry gamechanger,” said Andrew Bogut.

Since launch, Sportility has grown to a team of 20, recently winning the National Sports Convention Award for Product and Innovation and recognised as part of Austrade’s Landing Pad program in San Francisco, supporting Australian entrepreneurs as they scale their ventures overseas.

"Sponsored sports gear is the first step before completely unlocking all sponsorship assets in the amateur sports arena and defining a completely new industry. With elite sportspeople such as Andrew Bogut by our side, we are confident we can achieve this and more,” concluded Hyman and Harsanyi.
