Holafly report finds top global destinations for remote and hybrid workers

  • Data collected by Holafly found that 8 in 10 professionals plan to travel internationally in 2026
  • Among those living in Oceania, the top three destinations were the US, Singapore and the UK.
  • 1 in 3 travellers are choosing destinations for digital access, even if their trip is purely a holiday

With 8 in 10 professionals travelling internationally in 2026, and only 3% planning to stay offline, according to a report by leading eSIM provider Holafly, global connectivity is no longer a luxury but a necessity – and destinations with better access are being prioritised.

Another insight from Holafly’s Global eSIM & Travel Report 2025-2026 further drives this home: 1 in 3 travellers are choosing destinations for digital access, even if their trip is purely a holiday. Though a quarter of those surveyed said they regularly blend work and leisure. Smartphones are almost universal (94%), laptops common (39%) and smartwatches are an emerging tool (29%).

For the professionals on business trips, the report found that connection speed and reliability were most important (33%), followed by security (22%) and then ease of use (20%).

“In 2026, success in corporate travel won’t be measured by the number of flights taken but by the quality of the connections made,” said Alex Bryszkowski, Holafly’s Vice-President of B2B & Sales. “Technology and culture are aligning around one shared goal, to make every journey count.”

The report also found the destinations professional travellers are visiting: a blend of economic powerhouses, innovation hubs and emerging regional centres. For residents of Oceania, which includes Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, the top three business travel destinations were the US, Singapore, and the UK.

The report also determined where professionals in Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Africa are heading. The US was a top destination for everyone, while the UK was most visited by professionals in Europe, North America and Oceania. France was listed twice, as was Singapore. Professionals in Asia plan to visit the US, Japan and Singapore most for work in 2026.

“For these professionals travelling for work or play in 2026, Holafly’s world-first, permanent global eSIM is a game-changer,” says Alex Bryszkowski, Holafly’s Vice-President of B2B & Sales. “Launched last year, it works in over 200 countries with unlimited data, giving travellers a seamless connection.”
