Powerful antioxidant Ubiquinol shown to support cognitive health

Lifestyle changes and supplementation in focus as antioxidant support provides hope for cognitive health

Researchers have provided a glimmer of hope for the tsunami of Australians suffering the symptoms of cognitive health challenges, as a pivotal study reveals that a daily dose of 100mg of Ubiquinolii may enhance cognitive health in older adults, supporting improvement in memory, attentiveness and work processing ability in middle-aged and elderly people.

This breakthrough research, published in The Japanese Journal of Pharmacology (2021) was conducted through a rigorous randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, underscoring the potential of Ubiquinol to support cognitive function which has been seen to be depleted due to age-related decline.

The study involved 90 adults aged between 50 and 83, monitored over a period of 34 weeks. Participants were administered a daily dose of 100mg of Kaneka Ubiquinol™, the patented bioidentical Ubiquinol ingredient made from a fermented yeast process. Cognitive performance was meticulously evaluated using established neuropsychological tests.

The findings showed that regular supplementation with Kaneka Ubiquinol™ led to improvements in cognitive function, particularly in the domains of memory, attention, and information processing. Additionally, Ubiquinol’s potent antioxidant properties played a crucial role in reducing oxidative stress, a major factor in cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases. By supporting mitochondrial health, Ubiquinol enhanced cellular energy production, which is vital for maintaining optimal brain health and function.

Gerald Quigley, Pharmacist and Master Herbalist said these world class findings continue to support the role of Ubiquinol in maintaining cognitive health, cardiovascular health and general wellbeing.

As we age, the decline in cognitive function including memory, recall and processing is impacted and for many people this a concern. It is promising that supplementation can provide an option for those looking to maintain their cognitive health and support brain function as they age.

This study which shows the antioxidant and mitochondrial support properties of Ubiquinol for cognition, provides an evidence-based supplementation option. It is pleasing that as healthcare professionals we can offer patients an option to help support their cognitive health and help address the growing challenge of cognitive decline in older adults.”

As the global population ages, maintaining cognitive health is becoming increasingly critical. Ubiquinol, supported by 90+ scientific studies and 80+ patents, is essential for cellular energy production and offers robust antioxidant support.

This research highlights Kaneka Ubiquinol™ as a vital ingredient for supporting brain health and providing defensive support for age-related cognitive decline.

RESEARCH HIGHLIGHTS:

Participants: 90 adults aged 50-83, monitored over 34 weeks.

Methods: In the randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, participants were administered 100mg of Kaneka Ubiquinol™ daily. Cognitive performance was assessed using standard neuropsychological tests.

Results: Significant improvements in cognitive function were observed. Measuring cognitive domains of processing speed, sequencing, mental flexibility and visual motor skills, Ubiquinol intake improved memory, attentiveness and work processing ability.

KEY FINDINGS:

  • Enhanced cognitive function: The study reveals that regular supplementation with Kaneka Ubiquinol™ can improve cognitive function in adults, particularly in areas related to memory, attention and information processing.

  • Reduced oxidative stress: Ubiquinol’s powerful antioxidant properties help reduce oxidative stress, a major factor in cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases.

  • Mitochondrial support: By supporting mitochondrial health, Ubiquinol enhances cellular energy production, crucial for maintaining brain health and function.

Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Consult your healthcare professional to determine if Ubiquinol is suitable for your needs.
