5 Highest-Rated Restaurants in Sutherland Shire

  • Written by NewsServices.com

We love Sutherland Shire restaurants for one reason: variety. Everything you can think of is in this area, from diet-friendly dishes to unique cocktails. Once you try any of the five highest-rated restaurants in Sutherland Shire below, you'll definitely be back for more!

1. Albi’s Taverna

Address: Shop 1-2/1 Ocean Grove Ave, Cronulla, New South Wales 2230

Lunch specials, kids' meals, full-course dinners, you name it, you can't go wrong with Aldi's Table. One happy customer calls it a "gem of a restaurant," and you only need to walk in to know it. Beautiful decor, super-friendly service, and generous servings will have you back for more.

Nonna's meatballs are a family favourite but try the oysters, scallops, and squid. If you prefer a vegetarian dish, tuck into the ravioli: chanterelle mushrooms stuffed with four types of cheese.

2. Giro Osteria

Address: Shop 3/1 McDonald St, Cronulla, New South Wales 2230

Giro Osteria is one of the best Italian restaurants in the Shire, but don't expect pizza on the menu. There are plenty of entrees, pasta, and drinks at pocket-friendly prices. You can even bring your wine on weekdays to accompany your meal. This restaurant is warm and accommodating every day of the year. You can enjoy your meals indoors or outdoors, no matter the weather. Of course, book your spot early to get the best dining experience.

3. Sealevel

Address: No. 2 The Kingsway, Cronulla, New South Wales 2230

Birthdays, anniversaries, date nights–Sealevel got you covered. "Best meal for a while," says one happy customer, so it's definitely a special venue. Sealevel is right on the ocean, with generous seating and even bigger servings.

Sharing platters ranges from a couple of servings to large groups. You'll love the oysters with cucumber and lime dressing and the slow-cooked wagyu beef. And all this over a fantastic view.

4. Rocksalt

Address: Shop 1/72-80 Allison Cres Shop 1, Menai, New South Wales 2234

Although it's somewhat tucked away, it's well worth visiting Rocksalt for terrific food. But be warned: the seafood platter is positively addictive. It features everything from lobster mornay to fresh BBQ prawns, squid, salmon, rice, potatoes, salad, and dipping sauce. As one reviewer put it, "Fresh, fresh, fresh!" It's such incredible flavour and value that you'll order it weekly.

5. Alphabet Street

Address: 5/8 The Kingsway, Cronulla, New South Wales 2230

Try banquet-style Asian dining at Alphabet Street. "Every dish is wow," says one happy reviewer. Be sure to book your place in advance because it gets super busy. And with the generous servings, 2 hours is too short to enjoy the starters, platters and cocktails fully–you just can't finish it all! Thankfully, you can order a takeaway for yourself and your friends and take the time to savour Asia's rich flavours.
