As Aussies Ask More of Their Food, Grill'd Unveils Its Highest-Protein Burger Yet

Because a protein hit shouldn’t mean a flavour trade-off.

Wellbeing has become the defining obsession of modern life, influencing how Australians shop, eat and think about health. With at least half a million Australians taking weight-loss drugs* and the whey protein market projected to reach almost $350 million by 2034**, it’s clear that Aussies are looking for whole foods that works harder for them, supporting everyday energy, training, recovery and their broader wellness goals.

For more than two decades, Grill'd has been changing the game with their healthy, delicious burgers. Every burger is made with love, quality ingredients, and a focus on what Aussies truly crave, because eating well should never mean compromising on taste.

So, from Tuesday 4 August, Grill’d is doubling down on what they do best; launching a new High Performance range combining premium ingredients with high protein, low sugar and the great taste they’re known for. Leading the charge is the Protein Pro, a double chicken burger stacked with 81g of protein.  It anchors the wider High Performance range created to support a variety of health and wellness goals. The range gives flexibility to choose between high-protein, low sugar, nutrient-stacked and bite-sized menu options, while still delivering the great taste that has made Grill’d Australia’s favourite burger^.

Grill’d’s new High Performance range speaks to a range of consumers:

  • Maxing protein goals - introducing the double patty range, Protein Pro (81g of protein), Cluck Norris (79.9g of protein) and Big Dill Energy (55.7g of protein), built for anyone training hard and eating to match.
  • Pros in macros - a spotlight on three existing fan favourites, the Sweet Chilli Chicken, Zen Hen and Hot Bird, each packing 13+ vitamins and minerals and high in protein, low in saturated fat and low in sugar.
  • Perfect-sized - created for shifting appetites and those seeking a smaller, nutrient-dense option, the slider range delivers high protein, low sugar and fibre-stacked benefits in every bite, with two new flavours to add to the rotation.
  • Everyday wellness - because you shouldn't need a fitness goal to eat well, the entire core menu carries the same high-protein, low-sugar, 100% natural^^, nutrient stacked credentials.

Health and performance aren’t just limited to the High Performance range, every burger on the Grill'd menu is high in protein, low in sugar and packed with 13+ essential vitamins and minerals to support mind and body. Combined with naturally sourced electrolytes, buns with functional benefits including high fibre, low GI and zero refined sugar, it's a menu designed to deliver more from every bite.

Simon Crowe, Founder of Grill'd said "Health and nutrition, without compromising on taste, has always been part of our DNA, it's why we started Grill'd in the first place. As the health landscape keeps changing, we wanted to showcase what we’re known for with a range backed by genuine performance benefits relative to how our customers actually live, train and eat. This new menu is specifically designed to help people meet their own health and performance goals.”

The High Performance range is also backed by leading sports nutritionists, including experts from the Melbourne Storm performance nutrition team, ensuring every burger delivers on both flavour and nutritional credentials because Grill’d isn't just obsessed with protein, they’re obsessed with getting it right.

Georgia Walker, Dietitian at Melbourne Storm, said “As a professional sporting club, protein quality and timing are things we take seriously with our players. It's great to see a brand like Grill'd making high protein, low sugar performance focused food more accessible for everyday Australians training and recovering, not just elite athletes.”

The High Performance range lands in Grill'd restaurants nationwide from 4 August, offering flavour packed options for those looking to support their health and wellness goals.
