A Port Macquarie man is sharing his passion for golf with the Mid North Coast, launching his first franchise venture and the only X-Golf sports-entertainment venue in the region.
The 28th X-Golf to open nationally, Peter Cristoforo is a long-term member of his local golf club whose commitment to the game is set to shake up Port’s social scene.
It all came about when he was building the family home… 
“I was looking for a way to make golf more accessible with round-the-clock personal play to reduce long days on the green so I could spend more time with my family,” Mr Cristoforo said.
“Instead of installing a simulator at home, I suggested taking a leap and opening an X-Golf to my wife who, as a social golfer herself, saw potential in the idea for the greater community.”
A self-proclaimed ‘rubbish golfer’, Christie Cristoforo said that X-Golf removes the barriers to entry for everyone keen on a hit, regardless of age or ability.
“While nothing compares to the experience of playing a traditional game of golf outdoors, we’re absolutely thrilled to be smashing the possibility of play wide open for everyone in Port Macquarie,” Mrs Cristoforo said.
“I might not be any good at the game but that’s the beauty of X-Golf - no one knows! It’s a very casual environment where we don’t take ourselves too seriously. Plus, it’s a fantastic new outlet for social connection with a hospitality element as well.”
Featuring six indoor simulators equipped with the world’s most advanced technology, X-Golf is renowned for realistic play with high-tech sensors, cameras and software that simulates the game on your choice of over 50 global courses.

With the arrival of X-Golf comes X-League, offering keen Port Macquarie golfers access to compete in the nation’s largest virtual golf tournament where the best in the country come together once a year to clinch the Championships!

X-Golf Port Macquarie is located at 58 Uralla Road and is set to open on 30 July.
The Cristoforo’s will employ up to 10 local staff and have plans to get involved with local school initiatives and sporting groups.
