Battle of the Bridges youth music event

  • Written by The Times

Battle of the Bridges is back!

Georges River and Sutherland Shire Councils, in partnership with 3Bridges Community, have teamed up again for the second Battle of the Bridges youth music event.

Showcasing six emerging bands and performers from across Sydney’s south, the top three acts from each Council’s Youth Week events will go head-to-head to be recognised as the area’s top youth music talent.

Following the success of last year's event and the popular youth music events held during Youth Week in April, the collaborative Battle of the Bridges event offers young musicians and artists in the region a platform to take centre stage and make their mark.

Georges River Council General Manager David Tuxford said, “We’re thrilled to bring back Battle of the Bridges for a second year. We’re proud to continue supporting young artists as they step into the spotlight and share their passion with the community.”

Sutherland Shire Mayor, Councillor Carmelo Pesce said he was excited to see the event once again drawing strong interest from the community, building on the success of last year’s competition.

“Battle of the Bridges not only gives our talented local musicians an opportunity to shine, but it’s also a great family-friendly occasion for music fans of all ages to discover exciting new acts,” Mayor Pesce said.

“I’d encourage all music lovers to get down to this year’s event, get behind their favourite performers and hopefully we see some of our amazing Sutherland Shire musicians take home the title this year!”

Sydney locals can look forward to an exciting evening filled with live performances and original music from this talented line-up:
