HEYTEA's Bold Flavours and Long Queues Mark Grand Opening

HEYTEA, the original inventor of cheese tea and trailblazing tea house in new Asian-style teas, is excited to announce the opening of its first Sydney store on George Street.

HEYTEA are known globally for their innovative tea creations, modern twist on traditional flavours and commitment to using only real ingredients.

Founded in 2012, HEYTEA’s story began in an alley called Jiangbianli in Jiangmen, China. At the time, milk tea shops often used low-quality ingredients, serving milk teas made with non-dairy powder and tea powder. Frustrated by this, founder Neo Nie created the first-ever Cheese Tea in his own kitchen. By softening the overpowering taste of tea with a fine layer of cheese foam made with real milk, he created an exciting alternative that marked the start of a new era of tea in China. To this day, HEYTEA have remained true to their ethos and never use artificial flavours or creamers.

Tea has always been a key part of Asian culture, symbolising harmony, Zen, and health. Rooted in rich tea culture, HEYTEA has led the new era of tea by continuously innovating and blending traditional flavours with a modern twist.

Over 10 years later, cheese tea and a new wave of tea culture have taken the world by storm. HEYTEA, now achieved global success with over 4,000 stores in more than 300 cities across the world - including the likes of New York, London and Singapore. The opening of George Street marks an exciting time for HEYTEA, with multiple store openings planned across Australia over the next few months.

HEYTEA aims to bring joy and inspiration through high-quality tea beverages, continuing its global expansion with the new George Street store. With this opening, they will offer signature drinks like cheese tea, premium tea with creamy cheese foam, refreshing fruit teas made from natural ingredients, and an oat milk vegan option. Committed to healthier alternatives, HEYTEA provides free upgrades to zero-sugar sweeteners, enhancing their global reach.

The George Street location remains true to HEYTEA’s design ethos - a bright, modern space with seating available within the store, plus limited seating outdoors on George Street.

The interior features a blend of contemporary and traditional design elements, creating an immersive and comfortable environment for guests.
