Laundrlab Expands with a New Flagship Store, Redefining Sustainable Self-Service in Australia

DESIGNED TO CALM. BUILT TO LAST. POWERED BY PURPOSE.

THE FUTURE OF LAUNDRY STARTS IN POTTS POINT

Sydney, NSW | July 2025 — Clean laundry has never looked so good. Australia’s first premium, planet-friendly laundromat, laundrlab, has just unveiled its refreshed and expanded Potts Point flagship — moving just three doors down but making a massive leap in size, sustainability and style.

Relocated from 190 to 178 Victoria Street, the new venue has doubled in size and capacity, marking a major milestone for the brand as it continues redefining what laundry can look and feel like. To celebrate, laundrlab will be offering three days of free laundry from July 28-30, welcoming locals to experience the upgraded space for themselves.

With 21 high-performance Speed Queen machines now on-site, a 70% increase from the original location, the store is equipped to handle everything from everyday loads to large, bulky items like doonas and bedding. The fitout, designed by Litera Design, channels a spa-like atmosphere with softly curved rendered walls, ambient lighting, and warm, minimalist interiors. Seating has expanded from 6 to 16, and a newly installed folding station offers greater ease and functionality for busy customers.

As always, laundrlab remains committed to sustainable practices and a mindful customer experience. The store is run exclusively on digital payments, eliminating single-use plastic waste by offering plant-based detergents and maintaining a strict eco-cleaning policy throughout its operations. Clear landfill and recycling separation ensures low-waste output, and the brand is actively working towards B Corp Certification, expected in Q1 of 2026, aligning its business model with long-term environmental impact.

Since its launch in Potts Point in 2019, laundrlab has grown steadily, building a strong community following, earning more than 250 five-star Google reviews, and launching successful new locations in Bondi, Balmain and Glebe, where it recently secured a long-term lease. The brand has also attracted attention from people like Mark Bouris, with whom it collaborated via the Mentored x Lexus Grant. This next chapter in Potts Point reflects laundrlab’s mission to raise the bar on urban self-serve laundry, not only in form and function, but in philosophy.

Co-founders Carlos Ojeda and Toby Dankbaar said the new flagship is a direct response to customer feedback: “People told us they wanted more room, more machines, more comfort — but still the same calm, clean energy that defines laundrlab. This space delivers all of that. It’s not just a laundromat. It’s a part of people’s weekly rhythm, and we’re proud to offer something they can feel good about using.”
