The Hottest Trends in Ute Upgrades

  • Written by: The Times

There is no doubt about it, Australians love their utes. In recent years the popularity of utes and 4 x 4 vehicles has skyrocketed. Whether you’re an off-road enthusiast or a tradie looking for a work vehicle, these machines have become a part of people’s lives.

There are always new and exciting upgrades to improve performance and functionality. Once you choose from one of the many available ute canopies, you are just getting started.  Take a look at what others are doing to get fresh ideas for yourself. Like everyone else, you want to get the most out of your vehicle.

Off-Road Accessories

More and more people are enjoying using their utes for off-road activities. There has been a surge in accessories specifically designed for rugged terrains.

  • Skid plates – You can count on a limb or boulder to hit your undercarriage. If you ride in any conditions where you come into contact with gravel, rocks, or sticks, you need a quality skid plate.

  • BumpersProtect your critical components like lights, radiator, and fenders with an upgraded bumper and 200 series accessories. It also gives you a mounting platform for winches, light bars and more.

  • Winches – You need to have all the towing accessories to get you or your buddy out of the muck.

Versatile Canopies

One of the remarkable features of canopies is the ability to customize built-in drawers, shelves and storage.  You can organize your camping or work gear in a way that suits your needs.

If you’re off-roading camping, combine your canopy with a rooftop tent and you will never have to worry about finding a place to pitch your tent.

If your vehicle is primarily for work, you can organize your tools and equipment and avoid cluttered and disorganized cargo areas. A versatile canopy makes it easy to store and find what you need when you need it.

LED Lighting

Light bars and spotlights offer better illumination and are more energy-efficient when compared to traditional halogen lights.  If you’re driving down dark country roads or exploring off the beaten track, LED lighting can greatly improve your visibility and safety.  If you like you, can personalize your ute by adding different colour lights to give your vehicle a touch of style.

Suspension Upgrades

Lift kits and upgraded shock absorbers give your vehicle more ground clearance. They will let you take on more challenging terrain. How often have to had to take the “safe route” while your buddies tackled a difficult grade or trail you didn’t dare to attempt? Improving your suspension increases your ability to tackle more difficult tracks. They also increase on-road comfort and handling as well.

Communication Systems

Advanced communication systems have become popular in the world of ute accessories. If you are seriously off-grid you can’t rely on cell phone communication. From two-way radios to GMRS radios there are lots of options to make sure you stay in touch.

The world of ute accessories is constantly evolving with new trends and innovations hitting the market regularly.  Whether you want to improve your vehicle’s off-road capabilities or enhance its functionality for work there are plenty of options available.
