Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300): Planning to Marry in Australia? Here's What You Need to Know



Do you intend to get married in Australia? Those who wish to marry and begin a life together in Australia may apply for the Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300). 

Although the information provided does to clarify the Subclass 300 visa's particular duration of stay, it is typically acceptable for nine to fifteen months. 

The provision states that the applicant may remain in Australia for a maximum of 9 to 18 months with this temporary visa.

They have enough time to organize their wedding and pursue permanent residence as a result.

  • Provide police clearance documents from each nation where you have spent at least a year during the last ten years
4. Wait for Visa Processing -
Processing duration ranges from 13 to 25 months, depending on criteria such as:
  • Providing all documentation at the time of lodgment 
  • And responding promptly to requests for extra information 
  • The complexity of your case
5. Marry in Australia & Apply for a Partner Visa
  • You can enter Australia, get married, and start a family after the visa is approved.
  • The Partner Visa (Subclass 820/801), which offers a route to permanent residency, is available for application after marriage.
