The Whitsundays Launches New Self-Driving Podcast Tour

Tourism Whitsundays in partnership with Storytowns have launched four new self-driving audio tours featuring the diverse destinations of Airlie Beach, Bowen, Collinsville and Proserpine, sharing stories told by local personalities as travellers drive around and explore The Whitsundays.

The informative new podcasts showcase the interesting history of the townships and local community members that make the region so wonderful.

Hamilton Island Endurance Series

Spanning May through to November, the Hamilton Island Endurance Series puts athletes to the test as they compete in events set in the stunning island channels, beaches, and off-road trails. The event this year includes the Hilly Half Marathon, Great Whitehaven Beach Run, Hamilton Island Triathlon, and the Hamilton Island Ocean Swim.

Trail and Sail Race Tour

Date: 30 June – 3 July

Outer Limits and Prosail have joined forces for the ultimate trail running and sailing race this July. The Trail and Sail Race Tour 2022 will span across four days with six stages in the tropical paradise. Spend four days aboard an ex-racing sailboat in The Whitsundays, stopping along the way to run magnificent trails on the island. You do not have to be a sailor to partake in this ultimate event, but you may just become one by the end of the trip.

Airlie Beach Race Week Festival of Sailing

Date: 11 – 18 August

In its 33rd year, the Whitsunday Sailing Club will host the Airlie Beach Race Week Festival of Sailing; a seven-day sailing event that attracts entrants from all over the world. Offshore, the Regatta provides classes from IRC competitive racing through to cruising divisions with both official sailors and volunteers competing in the event. Onshore, the Festival of Sailing is a week-long public event filled with high profile entertainment and social activities.
