The Nanny Exhibit in Melbourne

THE NANNY EXHIBIT’ INSPIRED BY SONY PICTURES TELEVISION’S ICONIC ’90S SITCOM IS COMING TO MELBOURNE IN FEBRUARY 2025

Celebrating the enduring legacy on fashion history and pop culture of Sony Pictures Television’s iconic series, “The Nanny,” an immersive exhibit bringing the style and flare of the beloved ‘90s sitcom is coming to Melbourne/Naarm in February 2025 for the first time, with ticket sales beginning today.

Comprised of the signature, fashion-forward looks worn by the series’ titular character, Fran Fine, (played by Fran Drescher), the exclusive collection will feature over 100 curated original designer costumes sourced from private collectors and directly from Sony Pictures Television’s Hollywood archive.

Visitors will be transported to a nostalgic reconstruction of the famous sets, complete with wardrobe installations designed by Vivienne Westwood, Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Christian Dior, props used by the entire cast, classic show memorabilia, and one-of-a-kind rarities donated from fans and private collectors around the world for the exhibition.

Head Curator and creator of The Nanny Exhibit, Chris Brempel assembled a vast range of the most sought-after items featured in the series for the collection from Germany to the US.

“It is an exciting opportunity for us to honour the show and its seminal costume design,” said Brempel. “We want to bring back the happiness and joy this show, and the costumes have brought to people around the world.”

Across its six-season run in the ‘90s "The Nanny” generated a global fan base and maintains its popularity to this day. In Australia, the series has reached over 2 million viewers* on Nine Go! over the last 12 months (not including those who watch Binge, Foxtel, Samsung TV Plus and Stan).

Jeffrey Godsick, EVP, Brand Strategy & Partnerships & Head of Location Based Entertainment at Sony Pictures Entertainment said, Bringing The Nanny to life in this immersive exhibit allows us to celebrate the show’s beloved characters, timeless humour, and unforgettable ’90s style in a truly unique way. We are thrilled to work with Chris Brempel and team to create a space where visitors can connect with a series that has brought so much joy to audiences over the years and continues to resonate with fans of all ages.”

A preview of The Nanny Exhibit launched in France in 2022 to huge success, with 23,000 visitors in its opening week. Following this success, local touring and brand experience group Pomerium has partnered with Sony Pictures Television to bring the exhibit to Melbourne.

Visitors can expect an experience with all the boldness, colour, humour and energy of the show itself.

The Nanny Exhibit lets fans step into the fabulously over-the-top world of Fran Fine, from her iconic outfits to the unforgettable one-liners, this exhibit celebrates everything we love about the show,” said Adrian, Director of Pomerium and Executive Producer of The Nanny Exhibit.

There’s a universal appeal and nostalgia to the show that brings people together, whether it’s old fans revisiting their favourite scenes or younger generations experiencing the magic for the first time – this exhibit is a celebration of that joy and of this TV gem that still makes us laugh today. We're beyond excited to open The Nanny Exhibit and let fans step back into the fabulously over-the-top world of Fran Fine! From her iconic outfits to the unforgettable one-liners, this exhibit celebrates everything we love about the show.”
