Australian Innovation Sees Gamer Make a Record, High Above the Miami Skyline

An Australian innovation has helped a professional gamer make a record high above the Miami skyline, by playing a live video game from one helicopter while his gameplay lit up on a giant LED screen flown beside him.

The spectacular world-first campaign celebrated the launch of NINJA GAIDEN 4 and set a new Guinness World Record for the largest video game display flown by helicopter.

The airborne stunt - featuring global gaming personality Emmanuel “Master” Rodriguez - was created and delivered by HELI-D, a division of Australian aerial advertising and experiential marketing company Remarkable Media.

Using advanced broadcast and display technology, HELI-D streamed the gameplay in real time from Rodriguez’s helicopter to another aircraft carrying its proprietary double-sided full motion LED screen.

The screen, of 20 square metres each were shining brighter than most city billboards at 8,000 nits - create a live gaming duel in the night sky above Miami.

HELI-D is the only digital aerial billboard solution in the aerial advertising market globally, which is worth an estimated $7 billion according to The Business Research Company

HELI-D Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Simon Powell said the record making campaign showed how the sky could now be used as a platform for entertainment and storytelling.

“We’ve reimagined the world’s largest and brightest LED panels to create moments that are as unforgettable as they are technically ambitious,” Mr Powell said.

“It’s a thrilling example of how Australian innovation is helping global brands find new ways to capture audiences.”

Building on the success of its Miami campaign, HELI-D has now announced plans to scale up to enable advertisers the opportunity to run powerful campaigns that convert across Australia, the United States, and the UAE

HELI-D Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ryan Osbourne, added that by securing airspace in these markets, HELI-D had transformed aerial media from one-off moments into a repeatable, data-driven network.

"Each flight is engineered for measurable outcomes - whether that be driving app downloads, boosting sales, or creating cultural moments that travel worldwide,” Mr Osbourne said.
