Sydney Superyacht Festival

  • Written by: The Times

From Friday 17th March until Sunday 19th March, this new marine-themed extravaganza, set on Sydney Harbour, will incorporate both land – based and marine- based events and is a dream come true for superyacht owners and charterers, luxury boat owners and Sydneysiders who aspire to the luxury boating lifestyle.

The festival culminates in a luxury boat parade with a gala on water gathering in Rose Bay with views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge on Sunday the 19th of March.
The SSYF Gala Boat Parade will welcome luxury boats from 50 foot up to opulent Superyachts, quickly making this festival an international drawcard with The Jackson Superyacht leading the parade.

The flotilla will include superyachts and large luxury boats, mustering off Vaucluse and forming a parade down the Sydney Harbour, passing under the Harbour Bridge then making their return to Rose Bay for the SSYF afterparty.

Tickets start from $245 per person which includes live entertainment + gourmet food and premier drinks from Sydney Brewery with fine Australian wines and spirits from Swift + Moore. “We are proud to be part of such an exciting event to be held on Sydney Harbour. One where we can introduce consumers to a selection of innovative Australian brands such as wines by Dowie Doole, Regal Rogue Vermouth, Feels Botanical Eau de Vie, Cocktail Porter, and Land Under Gin.”, said Nick Blair, National Business Manager Swift + Moore.

Guests will also receive a goody bag with sponsor gift vouchers plus all ticket holders go into the draw to win a raft of prizes worth over $20,000.00 including a magnificent 4 nights stay at the 5 Star Vomo Island Resort in Fiji, Lunch and Scenic Flight for 2 from Sydney Seaplanes, 2 nights at the Coral Sea Resort in Airlie Beach, 2 Nights at the Fairmont Resort in the Blue Mountains, Romantic Harbour couples experience from Water Sports Central and an amazing Geniale’ Beauty prizes.
The SSYF are delighted to partner with the Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation (www.powhf.org.au), which ensures the Prince of Wales Hospital continues its focus on staff and patient care and wellbeing through funding leading to medical innovations, ground-breaking research, and education initiatives.

CEO Robert Hohnen says, “We are excited to join SSYF 2023 as a charity partner and beneficiary to provide ongoing support for the health and wellbeing of hospital staff and patients”.

The Sydney Superyacht Festival event concept has been developed by Grant Dwyer along with Stephen Hennessy, who established Marine Lifestyles and organises bespoke Luxury Boat and Superyacht Charters and events.

“The SSYF Gala Superyacht and Luxury Boat Parade will showcase the very best luxury boating brands from Australia and around the world, and encourage the international superyachts not just to come to Sydney for the new year’s eve fireworks, but to stay in Sydney and enjoy the amazing Summer.  Now they have a reason to stay on for the SSYF and be part of a series of events and functions showcasing the very best of what Sydney and Australia has to offer.” Said Grant Dwyer, Managing Director and Founder of SSYF.
Both Grant and Stephen are thankful to Sydney Hotelier Dr. Jerry Schwartz and passionate supporter of local tourism. Dr. Jerry Schwartz is incorporating the Sofitel, Sydney Darling Harbour, Sydney Brewery and Sydney Seaplanes in the festival.

Dr Schwartz welcomed the launch of the festival, saying “This is a crucial period for reviving Sydney’s Tourism industry after two years of closed international and interstate borders, and with Sydney Harbour regularly regarded as the world’s finest harbour, we thought it impressive to create a festival that puts the destination back on the world’s tourism map.”

The SSYF is endorsed by CEO Mr. David Good of Superyacht Australia.

“Superyachts inject over $3 billion annually into Australia’s economy, with Sydney Harbour being one of the biggest drawcards for visitation. This festival will highlight how enjoyable being on a yacht in Sydney is”
