TIMBERLAND AUSTRALIA BRINGS NYC TO MELBOURNE WITH NEW CONCEPT STORE

Timberland Australia will celebrate the opening of its brand-new Melbourne Walk concept store in Bourke Street Mall on Wednesday 1 April 2026, marking a bold new chapter for the global workwear icon as it steps further into the premium lifestyle and streetwear space.

To celebrate, Timberland will transform Melbourne Walk into a slice of New York City and host ‘Butters Deli and Grocer’, a one-night-only consumer event inspired by the brand’s NYC roots and the energy of downtown street culture.

From 6:30pm-9:30pm, the precinct will come alive with sights, sounds and flavours of New York. Brisbane-born DJ, Young Franco will headline the evening, soundtracking an immersive street party experience, while bodega-inspired food trucks and cult-favourite vendors including Sunnyside Pizza and Cookie Box serve up NYC-style eats.

Spilling out beyond the storefront and into the surrounding alleyways, the event is designed to capture the raw, creative spirit of Timberland’s heritage, reimagined through a distinctly Melbourne lens.

Accent Group’s General Manager of Timberland Joel Biggins, says the opening represents a pivotal moment for Timberland in Australia. “This store signals a new era for Timberland locally, one where we evolve beyond our heritage as an outdoor and workwear brand into a premium lifestyle space. It’s about creating immersive retail experiences that connect with culture, community and the next generation of consumers.”

While Timberland remains globally recognisable for its iconic product and legacy, the Melbourne Walk store reflects a shift in focus, from awareness to deeper engagement, cultural relevance and experiential retail.

The 115-square-metre concept store has been designed as a modern expression of the brand, blending elevated materials, considered design and storytelling-led merchandising. It sets the benchmark for how Timberland will continue to expand its presence in Australia, tapping into the growing intersection of streetwear, music and urban lifestyle.

With five stores currently operating nationwide, the Melbourne Walk location marks a strategic step forward in Timberland’s local evolution, positioning the brand at the heart of one of Australia’s busiest and most culturally connected retail precincts.

Butters Deli & Grocer is free and open to the public, inviting Melburnians to step into Timberland’s world and experience the brand in a fresh, immersive way.
