Tammy Hembrow’s Fitness App Tammy Fit Launches Family Meals

  • Written by Health Editor

Tammy Fit, the fitness app from Australian influencer Tammy Hembrow, has launched Family Meals, designed to bring its members and their families together at mealtimes.

Amy Hembrow, Tammy Fit co-founder and Tammy’s sister, says it’s really been a community effort, featuring recipes from Tammy Fit’s nutritionists, the Tammy Fit Facebook Support Group, and from Tammy herself.

“This is a Tammy Fit community effort,” says Amy. “We have collaborated with our nutritionists and asked the Tammy Fit Facebook support to let us know their favourite family meals.

“We’ve also included a popular recipe of Tammy’s kids, Wolf and Saskia’s favourite dish – spaghetti bolognese”.

“The result is a selection of Healthy Meals the whole family will love. Whether you’re cooking for the kids or need to meal prep for the week, cooking for a household can be overwhelming and cooking separate meals is not always ideal.

“There are so many things to consider – keeping meals healthy, sticking to a budget and – of course – making sure the kids will actually eat it. It can take the joy out of nutrition for the best of us!

“The recipes need to be easy, nutritious and suitable to a child's palate. With that in mind, Tammy wanted to put a Family Meal section into the app with simple tasty meals that everyone will enjoy.

“Family meals can set an example of healthy eating and polite table manners, offering parents a chance to be role models.”

Tammy Fit, which features workouts (including Booty workouts) designed for use at home and in the gym, has been downloaded by over a million people and has seen a spike in downloads since lockdowns began – with a 94 percent growth in downloads since March.

The Tammy Fit app includes:

  • Workout Programs with timers/videos
  • Home + Gym Programs
  • Individual Workouts
  • Nutritionist-designed Meal Plans
  • Healthy Treats
  • Smoothie Bar
  • Macro Calculator
  • Weight/Strength tracker
  • Step + water tracker
  • Constant updates & much more
