INTRIGUE, HISTORY, AND HOLLYWOOD ROYALTY: JIFF REVEALS 2023 PROGRAM LAUNCH SCREENING

On Thursday 21 September, the Jewish International Film Festival (23 October – 6 December) will reveal its 2023 program at a special Australian Premiere screening of the biographical thriller, Golda, featuring the celebrated Helen Mirren. Tickets to the program launch are on sale now. With limited capacity and the first chance for Australian audiences to see this hotly anticipated film, tickets will sell fast!

The launch screenings in Sydney (Ritz Cinemas) and Melbourne (Classic Cinemas) will offer local audiences a preview of world-class films screening at the Festival from October to December. The full JIFF Festival program will go on sale Thursday 21 September.

Directed by Academy-Award winner Guy Nattiv (Skin), Golda recounts the chaos of the Yom Kippur War, where Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir must navigate overwhelming odds, a skeptical cabinet, and a complex relationship with U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger as millions of lives hang in the balance. The special screening of Golda is presented by Jewish International Film Festival and AJN.

“The anticipation for this film is palpable. Not only does it resonate with the historical ethos of our community, but it's also a cinematic treasure brought alive by a brilliant director and a legendary actor,” said Eddie Tamir, Jewish International Film Festival Artistic Director. “This premiere screening of Golda will also give audiences the first opportunity to see the expansive roster of films the festival promises this year.”
