Senator Nampijinpa Price, is pleased that a change of government has been achieved in the Northern Territory.

While the count is not over in the Northern Territory election, based on the results that have come in so far, Territorians have voted resoundingly for a change of Government. 

This election saw a landslide victory for the Country Liberal Party, unseating Labor in some of its long-standing strongholds, including the ousting of Labor leader and Chief Minister, Eva Lawler. 

“Territorians have given the CLP a strong mandate to rebuild the Territory, and Federal Labor has much to answer for in this election result,” said Senator Nampijinpa Price.

“Federal Labor has much to answer for in this election result. Anthony Albanese cannot wash his hands or pretend he had nothing to do with this result. He has not listened to those living on the ground and has been silent in the face of Territorians screaming out for change.”

“The $300 million Albanese promised for Central Australia has not been seen by locals, and Territorians have rejected Albanese’s anti-development agenda.”  

“Whether it was Albanese’s support for the Middle Arm Inquiry, funding of the Environmental Defenders Office, or renewables only agenda, Territorians have seen through Labor’s out of touch approach to the Territory.”

Outgoing former Deputy Labor leader, Nicole Manison said “at the end of the day, we’ve been told very clearly in Alice Springs – not good enough.”  

Senator Nampijinpa Price said of the CLP, “they have a strong plan to tackle crime and restore safety to the streets of Territory communities.”

“The Coalition will support the new CLP government to deliver for all Territorians. We will also continue our task of holding the Albanese government to account for having held the Territory back for so long,” said Senator Nampijinpa Price.

“It is encouraging to know that the Territory finds itself back in the safe hands of a party that cares about it and is willing to put in the hard work that is required for change.”
