The perfect place: how to properly use a jewellery box

  • Written by NewsServices.com

There is nothing worse than going to wear one of our favourite pieces only to realise it has depreciated with time. It’s a sad disappointment to see special pieces suffer with time, and for this reason many people invest in high quality jewellery boxes to ensure their beautiful designs stay that way.

But how do you properly use a jewellery box? Sure, they are designed to optimise the life of your styles, but you can also optimise how effective they are by following this expert tips:

  1. Choose the one box with numerous compartments

Essentially, you only need the best jewellery box Australia has. It should be big enough to store all your designs whilst allowing for plenty of space between them. Also, remember to pick one with plenty of compartments, as these will ensure that different pieces like bracelets, necklaces and rings won’t tangle and damage each other.

And, after all, having an elegant storage solution is part of the fun of keeping so many beautiful designs. It’s always enjoyable to see how we store them together, especially when we create a highly efficient design that is easy to peruse and pluck from.

  1. Store by type

If you love your jewellery, you will know that every piece needs its own department. So, be sure to place all your bracelets, earrings, necklaces etc. in their own compartments. If you’re a true aficionado with plenty of pieces you might like to subdivide them among their jewel categories etc.

This means you can more easily grab, for example, your white gold rings exactly when you want them, and won’t get hung up rummaging through your different ring styles when you have more pressing matters at hand!

  1. Loop your earrings together

You will likely find a cushioned compartment for your studded earrings, as they hold the studs comfortably in place. Earrings and hoops with a clasp are a little tricker to navigate - but it doesn’t have to be this way!

Be sure to loop your earring and hoop sets together. They can be put in any free spot, but just be sure to interlock them so that they never get separated and are easy to grab whenever you need them.

All you have to do is take a look and say, “yes - they are the ones for today”, before unlinking them and using them to their beautiful, intended effect!

  1. Store delicate pieces separately

We all wish to keep our most prized pieces together. However, chain necklaces just love to get knotted and tangled. As such, you might like to keep them in a separate box, or even individual packages within your premier jewellery box. You can even keep them on hooks within the storage space or install a specialised storage closet if you have plenty at risk of tangling.

The last thing you want is for your valuables to start knotting with themselves or other pieces - this can be incredibly frustrating and depreciate the pieces!

  1. Keep it all in a dry, cool spot

We all know that our most prized valuables do not like being anywhere near humidity. As such, we should ensure that whatever our storage solution may be, it is kept in a dry, cool place. What’s more, you should always ensure that wherever you keep it that it must be a safe spot. Finally be sure to insure your pieces as they are obviously at the highest risk of being stolen.
