Allegion Finalises Acquisition of Australian Residential Door Hardware Leader Gainsborough and API Locksmiths

Global industry leader commits to Australian market by strengthening its ability to provide comprehensive solutions to local customers

 

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA (July 10, 2018) Allegion, plc, a leading global security products and solutions provider whose brands include Brio, FSH, Legge and Schlage, today completed the acquisition of GWA Group Limited’s Door and Access Systems business in Australia.

 

GWA’s Door and Access Systems business includes renowned Australian brands Gainsborough hardware, Austral locks and API locksmiths.

Gainsborough is the market-leading residential door hardware brand in Australia, with a portfolio that includes the country’s top entrance door lock, Trilock. API Locksmiths is the commercial market leader for keying, installation and access control services across the country.

The Door and Access business generated sales of approximately AUD 95 million for calendar year 2017, with 300 employees operating from nine sites around Australia. The business will operate in Allegion’s Asia-Pacific region. Allegion announced its intent to purchase GWA Group Limited’s Door and Access Systems business in May this year.
