From virtual golf to piano rooms, apartment living no longer a barrier for hobbies

  • Written by Alana Calvi

Hobbies such as playing golf and playing musical instruments don’t often go hand in hand with apartment living but for residents of EcoWorld International’s West Village development in Parramatta, swinging their club and playing piano can be enjoyed within the comfort of their building.

Soaring 40-levels high and expertly designed by Woods Bagot, the $300 million apartment development is 90 per cent sold and its little wonder why, with residents having access to a host of amenities including a virtual golf room, a piano room, a rooftop viewing platform offering views of the Harbour Bridge and a verdant garden in the sky.

The virtual golf room and piano room have become quite a stand out in 2021, with residents using them daily and pursuing their passions without having to venture afar. For West Village resident and avid golfer Franki Cheung, he can improve his golfing skills and socialise with other golfing enthusiasts.

“Since September last year, I've been playing with my golf group religiously once a week; the sessions really help with our form on the field in terms of skills and range,” he said.

“The golf room has so many course selections with different skill levels and we can enjoy the games in an air-conditioned room with privacy.”

Franki said other perks include avoiding crowds, not being controlled by the weather and getting to take lunch breaks as they please.

Meanwhile, for West Village resident, professional musician and private music tutor Rebekah House, the piano room was a major consideration when purchasing her apartment.

“Apartment living doesn't usually allow for hobbies which require large amounts of space so the piano room at West Village was one of the major factors in our decision to purchase within West Village.

“I practice the flute for several hours a day and I was mindful of not disrupting our neighbours, so having access to a dedicated music room meant I had plenty of opportunity to play without worrying about the noise. I’ve also loved playing the piano in the room too and it was going to be impossible to fit one in our apartment so having one in West Village is very helpful.

“Practice is essential to my profession and it’s been helpful having a place to go where there are no distractions,” she said.

Setting a benchmark for multi-residential living and commercial property in Parramatta, West Village will undoubtedly bring further economic prosperity to the area with its upcoming retail component, encouraging foot traffic and adding character to the precinct.

Limited residences now remain. For more information on West Village, please visit www.westvillageliving.com.au or call (02) 9689 2525 for enquiries.
