Giant jelly bean competition pops up at Emporium Melbourne

  • Written by The Times

From June 22 to 26 June, Melburnians can reignite their love of school fete guessing competitions at the two-metre tall Fall Guys Free For All Jelly Bean Guessing Competition at Emporium Melbourne. The competition is celebrating the launch of popular ultimate knockout game Fall Guys going free today across the game’s existing platforms PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and, for the first time, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC via the Epic Games Store. Fall Guys players refer to their beloved 1.8 metre tall in-game avatars as ‘beans’ due to their resemblance to the confectionery treat.

The jelly bean container will be at the Lonsdale Street entrance of Emporium Melbourne and passers-by can submit their guess on-site for their chance to win prizes including a year’s supply of jelly beans (150kgs of jelly beans)! See below for a full list of prizing.

“Throwing over a tonne of jelly beans in a jar for Aussies to take guesses was the natural way to combine Australia’s love of guessing competitions with Fall Guys fans’ love for their bean-shaped avatars,” said Oliver Hindle, Community Lead at Fall Guys’ developer Mediatonic.

Fall Guys is a game in which players control bean-shaped characters called Fall Guys as they compete against each other in a game show of mini-games to be the last bean standing and win a Crown. Crossplay and cross-progression are fully supported across all platforms thanks to Epic Online Services, so friends can play together regardless of which device they own.

Players interested in trying out the brand new “Free For All” season of Fall Guys while at Emporium Melbourne can head to Australia’s home of games, Fortress Melbourne, located on the lower ground floor, to play the game for free on select gaming PCs in The Hall until 26 June (aside from 25 June in the day). Fortress Melbourne will also host hourly Fall Guys tournaments on Friday 24 June from 6pm AEST onwards.

Fall Guys Season 1: Free for All introduces the game’s most jam-packed and blunderful season yet, with stacks of new events, locations, challenges and rewards waiting for players new and old alike, alongside major updates to the game’s progression systems and a new in-game currency called Show-Bucks.

Jump into Fall Guys today to play for free on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S | X and PC via the Epic Games Store. For more information, stumble on over to FallGuys.com
