LINE-UP ANNOUNCED FOR 2023 RIDE THE SOUNDWAVE MUSIC FESTIVAL

Boy & Bear, The Waifs, Busby Marou and Tullara Port Macquarie Town Beach Park – Saturday April 29, 2023

Organisers of the Ride the Wave surf, skate and music festival have today announced the artist line-up for their 2023 Ride The Soundwave Music festival with Boy & Bear, The Waifs, Busby Marou and Tullara set to rock the beachside stage in Port Macquarie next April.

Set on one of the most picturesque locations on the East Coast, the line-up represents extraordinary value with tickets to the Ride the Sound Wave music festival only $90.

A limited number of 5,000 tickets to the April 29 music festival will go on-sale from 15 December via Ticketebo.

Ride the Soundwave music festival is a ticketed event on the Ride the Wave festival line-up with the surf and skate sport action, markets, a family fun zone and other activities all available for spectators. The weekend is action packed with something for everyone including the 3-day RTW Junior Surf Pro proudly sponsored by Coastline Credit Union and Innervision attracting some of the best groms, the epic Skate Competition sponsored by HEM Property (the team that knows a hot location better than anyone).

“The ticket price is well below what we know a lot of other festivals and venues charge to see artists of this calibre as we want to make the music festival accessible for as many people as we can.  The festival is run by local charity Make a Difference (MAD) – who support marginalized people in the Port Macquarie/Hastings region.  So, despite our small entry fee, we’re also hoping to raise some much-needed funds to help with the work we undertake feeding and supporting those in need.  Homelessness issues are not always visible in our community but there are hundreds of people living on the streets in our region alone. And Ride the Soundwave will help us create awareness and raise funds to support them. 100% of our entry fees go directly to the MAD charity,” said Erin Denham – Director M.A.D & RTW Event Coordinator.

The all ages, dog friendly music festival will feature a mix of indie, folk, rock acts with broad appeal on Saturday April 29, with access to food stalls and markets available to festival goers.

The inaugural Ride the Wave festival was staged in 2021 with the festival growing significantly in 2022 with support from the NSW Government, Port Macquarie Hastings Council and the generosity of many local businesses.

The event has moved from its original June calendar spot to April 2023 for the third iteration to take advantage of the warmer weather.

“We’ve gone with artists that will bring a great laid back beach vibe suiting our coastal location at Town Beach.  The limited capacity of around 5,000 for the music event will also add to the laid back vibe – it’s an intimate venue that will be comfortable for all ages.  The skate park is at the back of our concert space along with the entry to the Hastings River, and Port’s beautiful Town Beach is to our left.  It’s a unique location and people will be able to enjoy a full day of fun with markets and surfing and skate before the music kicks off at 3pm and takes us into the evening.  It will be great value for locals, and gives visitors to our region another reason to head to Port Macquarie for a weekend of fun.  We’re only four-ish hours up the Highway from Sydney, and about six hours down the Highway from Brisbane,” added Erin Denham.

The music festival venue is also located alongside Port Macquarie’s largest caravan park (NRMA Breakwall Holiday Park) allowing visitors to stay on-site and walk to the festival, beach and skate park to enjoy everything that Ride the Wave has to offer.  Some of Port Macquarie’s best known holiday accommodation is also located within easy walking distance to the venue – with free parking also available for locals.

The ‘Barrel Room Bar’ will run inside the ticketed Ride the Soundwave music precinct – a chill out zone to enjoy a beverage while taking in all the action on stage.

The Ride the Wave festival partners with Major Event Sponsors Men and Women at Work, HEM Property, Coastline Credit Union, MBC Recruitment, John Oxley Motors & NRMA Breakwall Holiday Park.
