FedEx Australia Announces Christmas Shipping Cut-Off Dates To Help Beat the Holiday Rush

With Christmas just around the corner, FedEx is advising Australian shoppers to get their presents sorted early to ensure they arrive on time for the big day. FedEx has revealed its 2024 Christmas shipping deadlines, urging customers to send parcels as early as possible to avoid delays as the holiday rush kicks in.

For domestic deliveries within Australia, the cut-off date for Road Express shipments is 18 December. However, for those in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, the final shipping date is earlier—16 December. If you’re using Priority services (including 9:00 Express, 10:00 Express, 12:00 Express, and Overnight Express), the deadline is 20 December. The final day to collect shipments from a local FedEx facility is 23 December

For those sending parcels to New Zealand, the Economy services cut-off date is 18 December, while Priority services must be sent by 20 December.

If you're sending international shipments from Australia, the deadlines vary. For Economy services (such as International Economy and International Economy Freight), the last day to ship is 13 December, and for Priority services, the cut-off is 18 December.

“The holiday season is a busy time for shipping, and we want to ensure our customers have a smooth and stress-free experience,” said Peter Langley, Regional Vice President of FedEx Express Australasia. “We will continue to invest in building world-class digital and data-driven solutions to enhance the customer experience, making it easy, simple and smart to do business throughout the busy holiday sales period.”

With the Christmas rush fast approaching, FedEx is encouraging everyone to act now to avoid last-minute delays.
