FUJIFILM Australia and Igloo Vision Deliver a Fully Immersive Experience at EduTech 2024

FUJIFILM Australia, Optical Devices Division, alongside its partner Igloo Vision, will unveil a fully  immersive 360° booth experience at EduTech 2024, held August 13–14, 2024 in Melbourne at Fujifilm’s  booth 1604.

The space was debuted at InfoComm in Las Vegas in June and voted one of the ‘Top 5 booths to visit’ at the show.

This fully immersive space is comprised of walls, floor, and ceiling projection, thanks to a grouping of FUJIFILM FP-Z6000 Projectors (FP-Z6000), with the space itself being powered by Igloo Vision’s award-winning software platform for immersive spaces, Igloo Core Engine.

Interest in shared immersive spaces is at an all-time high, with educational institutions around the world finding they are a perfect way to share VR/XR/360 content among teams of students, teachers peers and researchers.

Immersive spaces are used in education to transport students to places otherwise not possible, such as flying to the moon with a 360 degree video, view historical faraway landmarks with 360-degree immersive Streetview or sit courtside at a sports game thanks to 360 live-streaming.

Delivering this dynamic immersive content will be eight FP-Z6000 Projectors, featuring FUJIFILM Z-Series’  rotating, folding lenses, and expansive lens shift options designed for installation versatility in even the  most challenging spaces. With its 6000-lumen output and a 0.34–0.37 ultra-short throw ratio, the projectors  will illuminate the space with content powered by software from Igloo Vision, Ltd. (Shropshire, U.K.), a  leader in immersive experiences.

Igloo Core Engine is an operating system for immersive spaces which is designed to make them easier to  use, easier to build, and easier to benefit from. It brings together over 15 years’ experience that Igloo has  in the immersive technology sector, building, installing and developing software for hundreds of clients all  over the world.

One particular feature of Igloo Core Engine that will enhance the experience within the FUJIFILM and Igloo  immersive space is True Perspective – Igloo’s unique perspective correction feature that automatically  applies the right, true-to-life perspective to immersive content.

It also means you can adjust the perspective in real time, depending on the position of the primary viewer.  With the immersive space on display having wall, floor and ceiling projection, True Perspective will  enhance content to make the experience for the visitor more realistic than ever before. The view  perspective can be adjusted in real-time, depending on the position of the primary viewer. With the  immersive space on display having wall, floor, and ceiling projections, True Perspective and FP-Z6000 will  enhance content to make the visitor’s experience in Fujifilm’s EduTech 2024 booth incredibly realistic.

Visitors can step inside Fujifilm’s custom-built space within Fujifilm’s EduTech 2024 booth and be  enveloped in specifically curated content thanks to a lineup of incredible content partners, like  Atmosphaeres, Blend Media, RapturousMedia, who will transport visitors to stunning locations around the  world – swimming with whales, beautiful beaches and forests, the aroura borealis and much more.

The immersive content projected by the FP-Z6000 Projectors and powered by Igloo Core Engine, will  focus on immersive spaces for:

• Immersive classrooms, where students, teachers and researchers can benefit from immersive  technology in several ways and for several applications, across every level of education. • Real estate, where immersive projections can offer comprehensive walkthroughs of properties  under construction or in distant locations, aiding decision-making without the need for physical  visits. These projections also allow potential buyers to visualize various design options within  commercial and residential spaces.

• Themed entertainment venues, such as family amusement facilities, museums, and theme parks,  where immersive projector spaces captivate visitors, seemingly transporting them to different  worlds and enhancing thematic storytelling.

• Art galleries and museums, where these projections can extend art beyond traditional frames,  creating interactive exhibitions.

• Aviation, military, emergency services or other industries that utilize simulations and training, in  which this technology can be used to create realistic scenarios.

The space will also feature a fully immersive octophonic (8.1 channel) ambisonic sound system, thanks to  Optimal Audio, TAG and QSYS. So, as well as seeing stunning visual content, visitors will get to experience  how directional audio can be used to enable you to be surrounded by speakers but easily know where to  look and who’s talking to you.

"For years, shared immersive spaces were used almost exclusively for entertainment. Now organizations  are finding that they create meaningful engagement among colleagues, customers, and students," said  Simon Murphy, National Business Development Manager for projectors with FUJIFILM Australia’s Optical  Devices Division. “FUJIFILM Z-Series Projectors are the perfect solution for immersive experiences, as  they can be used to transform spaces into stories. FP-Z6000 allows users to project from spaces and  places that few other projectors can. Their discreet installation makes the experience even more  immersive. You’re not in a room with projectors; you feel you’re actually a part of the story.”

With almost five years of collaboration, Fujifilm and Igloo Vision have partnered on immersive experiences  worldwide. As a result of this collaboration, FUJIFILM FP-Z6000 Projectors have been incorporated to  create immersive spaces for a variety of corporate and higher-education customers.

“More and more clients are asking for floor projection, and Fujifilm Z-Series projectors have become our  go-to,” said Colin Yellowley, founder of Igloo Vision. “We’re excited to be able to work with Fujifilm and its  FP-Z6000 to add ceiling projection for a truly all-encompassing immersive experience. With the space  being powered by our award-winning software platform for immersive spaces, Igloo Core Engine, we’re  confident that the feeling of true immersion in Fujifilm’s booth at EduTech 2024 will be unmatched.”
