triSearch add Keep Cup and Reusable Water Bottle to its Sustainability & Wellbeing Program

The ongoing plan for triSearch to reduce its single use items to zero continues with a reusable water bottle and keep cup issued to all staff as part of its ongoing Sustainability & Wellbeing Program.

Having fully embraced the program after its launch in September 2021, National Sales Manager, Mitchell Burge believes the continued improvement and additions reaffirms the triSearch commitment to its staff and the environment.

“The Sustainability & Wellbeing Program is not just about environmentally sustainable initiatives but being able to impact the quality of life for the whole team at triSearch,” Burge explained.

“Introducing reusable water bottles and keep cups as part of the initiative for all staff to use not only rewards everyone for the hard work they do, but also moves our business one step closer to abolishing single-use items in our workplace.”

According to Biofriendly Planet, disposable water bottles not only take up space in landfills and pollute oceans, but they take an incredible number of resources to produce. Creating one year’s worth of water bottles uses up a whopping 17 million barrels of oil. That much oil could fuel 1.3 million cars for a year.

Furthermore, plastic waste also accounts for the death of 1.1 million marine creatures per year, another important reason why triSearch is seeking to abolish single use water bottles in its offices.

As for single use keep cups, it only takes 10 days of drinking coffee with a reusable keep cup to offset the material it takes to make it, compared to those who use compostable cups.

According to a KeepCup report, if everyone in Australia switched to KeepCups rather than using disposable cups, the amount of carbon emissions that would be saved in a year would be equivalent to approximately 100,000 hours of flight time for a Boeing 747.

The triSearch Sustainability & Wellbeing Program was started to affirm its commitment to reduce emissions, improve air quality, and see to the sustained mental and physical wellbeing of its team members.

The keep cups and water bottles have been added to the Program which was announced late last year and includes the use of reusable facemasks, 100 per cent recycled paper, walking meetings and end of day huddle initiatives.

NOTE: triSearch will continue to evolve its safe and sustainable practices to ensure the longevity of the planet and the well-being of its staff.
