Roofrite builds on three decades of roofing expertise across Melbourne

Roofers Overlooking the City

For more than 30 years, Roofrite, a roof plumbing company, has been helping protect Melbourne homes and commercial properties with specialist roofing, roof plumbing and maintenance services. What began as a family business in 1995 has grown into an established roofing specialist working across residential, commercial and remedial projects throughout metropolitan Melbourne.

Founded by Director and licensed roof plumber Kim Gallagher and Co-Founder Paula Withington, Roofrite has built its business around a straightforward philosophy: "Quality Above All". That focus has remained central as the company has expanded its services and taken on increasingly diverse roofing projects.

Three decades of industry experience

Roofing is an industry where experience matters. Every property presents different challenges, from the construction and age of the building to its exposure to Melbourne's weather and the condition of existing roofing materials.

Roofrite has developed expertise across a broad range of roofing requirements, including roof repairs and leak detection, roof replacements, guttering, downpipes, skylights, cladding and tile-to-metal conversions.

The company works with homeowners as well as builders, property managers and owners corporations, giving it experience across both individual residential projects and larger commercial and remedial works.

Its commercial division undertakes roofing repairs, reroofing, guttering, cladding and rectification projects, while its residential team works with homeowners on everything from individual repairs through to complete roof replacements.

Combining trade expertise with modern solutions

While traditional trade knowledge remains at the heart of Roofrite's work, the company has continued to invest in technology and specialist capabilities.

Roofrite is a licensed roof plumbing business and a Velux authorised installer. For difficult-to-diagnose leaks, the team can also use thermal imaging technology to help identify areas of water ingress that may not be immediately visible.

This combination of practical experience and modern diagnostic tools is particularly relevant when dealing with older or complex properties, where the visible source of a leak is not always the point at which water is entering the building.

The company also works with established roofing products and materials, including Australian-made BlueScope steel products such as Colorbond and Zincalume for metal roofing applications.

A family business with an established reputation

Although Roofrite has grown considerably since it was established, its family ownership remains an important part of the business.

Kim continues to lead the company's roofing operations, while Paula oversees administration and human resources. Their daughter, Millie, has also joined the business, bringing hands-on trade experience to her role in Sales and Estimating.

That combination of long-term industry knowledge and practical experience has helped shape Roofrite's approach to customer service and project delivery.

Rather than focusing on one type of roofing work, the business has developed a broad capability that allows it to assess individual properties and recommend solutions based on their condition, requirements and intended use.

Looking after the roof from the top down

For homeowners and property professionals, roofing is about more than the visible roof covering. Effective roof plumbing and drainage are critical to protecting a building from water ingress, while correctly installed flashings, gutters, valleys and downpipes all contribute to the performance of the wider roofing system.

Roofrite's breadth of services allows the company to address these elements as part of a broader roofing project, whether that involves repairing an isolated problem or replacing an ageing roof.

After more than three decades in the industry, Roofrite continues to operate with the same principle that has guided the business since its establishment: putting quality workmanship at the centre of every project.

With a long history across Melbourne's residential and commercial roofing sectors, the company is continuing to build on its specialist expertise while delivering the roofing and roof plumbing services that have become the foundation of the Roofrite brand.
