1,000 Competitors, One Global Community: Fitstop’s Global Games Finale Lands in Brisbane

More than 1,000 athletes and 1,500 spectators filled the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre for Fitstop’s 2026 Global Games finale, bringing together performance, competition and community.

Following events in Singapore and Los Angeles, Brisbane marked the final stop of the international tour. The series gave everyday athletes an opportunity to test their training in a competitive setting, reflecting growing demand for fitness events that combine physical challenges with shared experiences.

Teammates, friends and supporters cheered athletes through every station. While some of the country’s leading strength and endurance competitors claimed podium finishes, many participants were competing for the first time.

“Bringing Global Games home to Brisbane for the finale meant a lot to us,” said Fitstop Founder and CEO Peter Hull. “This is where Fitstop started, so seeing 1,000 athletes come together here to compete, support each other and celebrate what they’ve achieved was incredible.”

The competition drew on Fitstop’s functional strength methodology, connecting the event directly to members’ regular studio training.

“Every workout is designed around Fitstop's functional strength methodology, so the movements, standards and intensity are the same ones members train for in the studio every week,” said Fitstop Athletic Director Andrew Papadopoulos. “That makes the Games open to athletes at every stage, from first-timers to seasoned competitors, all testing themselves against the same program they've been building towards all year.”

Delivering the Brisbane event required a network-wide effort. Some 140 business owners from Fitstop’s franchise network helped move more than 400 pieces of fitness equipment, including 6,000kg in weights, and judged 32 waves of competitors across 13 hours.

“Each city brought its own energy, but everywhere we saw athletes stepping up, backing each other and celebrating what they could achieve. That response has made this first tour something really special,” said Hull.

Supporting partners added a festival atmosphere alongside the competition. Naming rights partner LSKD hosted a retail pop-up with custom heat pressing, allowing participants to represent their studios. Subway Australia provided a dedicated warm-up and recovery zone, while nutrition partner Pillar Performance supplied gels and hydration cans during workouts.

Across three cities, Global Games brought Fitstop’s studio communities onto a shared competitive stage, giving both experienced athletes and first-time competitors a new goal to train towards.
